Complete Denture Programme – 2 Days
Complete denture hands on work shop covers all the aspects of complete denture fabrication- impressions, jaw relation, denture trial, delivery of denture and post insertion complains; in detail, demonstrated and hands on done on the patient.
Participants will be trained in in single step putty wash impression technique using rubber based impression materialin which primary and secondary impression is taken in one step saving patient clinical appointment and chair side time.
Course outline
- Understand the goal of an accurate impression
- Realising “Beginning with the end in mind” principle
- Understand the different materials used in preliminary and secondary
impressions including some of the most modern materials
- Understand when, where and how to use them
- Locating the anatomic landmarks
- Periphery of the denture - border seal, the posterior and peripheral limits
- Anterior & posterior vibrating lines - locating them and understanding their importance
- Selection of stock trays
- Preserving the details recorded while pouring the cast,why and how
- Mandibular denture retention problems - why, how to combat
- Pouring the cast - how to preserve the landmarks in the cast, cast trimming
- Jaw relation - how to accurately record for a stable denture and occlusion.
- Teeth selection – points to be noted.
- Try in of denture – what to check and how corrections should be recorded
- Denture insertion and post insertion complains
Demonstration and Hands on
Each participant is given chance for making impression and jaw relation recording on patients.

- Gingival retraction (video demonstration on patient)

- Luting and cementing procedures
